Pattern #293

All thanks to EAPG historian Paul Kirk for lifting this flip from the unidentified heap. It is lighter weight than many of the glass bowls on this site and would probably not have been used in a soda fountain or in any high-traffic commercial venue.

It is pattern No. 293, and it was made by King Glass Company. According to Kirk, the "pattern was offered in a full line of tableware as well, plain and engraved."

Kirk contributed the scan (above) from a King Glass catalog circa 1890/91 that shows the flip in three sizes, from the 8-inch and 7-inch cracker bowls to mine, the 6-inch "bar sugar."
